March 8^th (Doctoral Consortium and Informatics Departmental Seminar)

• 09:30 – Registration
• 10:00 – Doctoral Consortium:
  7 fantastic submissions have been accepted to the DC, and a great faculty/industry panel is there to give the feedback and support on their research projects!

• 12:00 – Lunch break
• 13:00 – Doctoral Consortium (cont.)
• 15:00 – Informatics Departmental Seminar
  DC participants are invited to join the Informatics departmental seminar.  (Details about the speaker are at the bottom of this email.)

• 16:00 – Seminar Happy Hour
• 18:00 – Depart from UCI for Dinner
• 18:30 – Dinner: Karl Strauss Brewing Company
  DC participants, and others who are in town, will be going to dinner. Expenses are not covered, but we want to keep the productive conversations going! We will be be going to Karl Strauss. If you would like to join us, write Jed (jedbrubaker@gmail.com) and let him know that you will be joining so he can modify the reservation accordingly.

March 9^th (Workshop Day)

• 10:45 – Morning Session
  Sometimes called “Crazy Ideas!”, during the morning a set of faculty will present and receive feedback on early ideas they have either on their existing work, or the work they wish they could do!

• 12:30 – Lunch & Poster Session
• 14:00 – Afternoon Session: The Design Challenge
  Participants will be organized into groups and provided design challenges. The objective here is to meet researchers at other institutions and get to know each other by working together on small, low-stress, high-fun challenges. You won’t want to miss this!
  

• 16:30 – Closing Keynote: Paul Dourish
